At last! A day warm enough to raku! I forget how much I enjoy the raku process and then one warm Saturday in February I am reminded...what fun!
My friend Joyce and I have been firing together for nine years. We eat odd food combinations, laugh more than is healthy, read two year old newspapers and catch things on fire. It is the perfect way to spend a spring like winter day.I did have two pieces crack, which is always a bit disappointing, but I got some nice smokey colors on everyone except one saint who came out looking like old iron...all very pretty.
